French language (A1/A2) introductory French for Educators
Course Summary
This course is intended for any educators who are A1 or/and A2 speakers and want an opportunity to build their skill and confidence with French language.
The French language course is thematically divided into four subcategories that cover the most important areas of life for everyday use of the French language: grammar and language (basic and modal verbs in the present tense, definite/indefinite article, vocabulary related to thematic units, past and future tense), time and numbers (cardinal, ordinal, hours, dates, years, etc.), the world around me (description of the environment, city map and navigating by instructions), culture and society (my profile, national symbols, local landmarks). The principles of the language learning will be customed to the participants through the mentioned thematic units and their mutual correlation, with a special emphasis placed on language exercises, pronunciation in French, and conversation on examples from everyday life.

Course Detailed Description
The course content will help participants master the beginner level (A1/A2) of the French language through interesting and useful activities applicable in specific life situations. The course activities are designed for small to medium groups of participants and can be adapted to the individual needs and affinities of each participant. Tasks can be applied in individual and group work, divided into tasks for mastering grammar or vocabulary.
Special attention will be given to conversation practice with everyday examples from thematic units.
Main themes of the course: grammar and language, time and numbers, the world around me, culture and society. The course is devised in such a way that each of the four themes is represented in the form of a teaching subject, which is performed daily according to the same schedule. Since the course is intended for educational staff in the Erasmus program, such a concept would bring language learning closer to the form that participants already are familiar with. Therefore, the theme of grammar and language is performed within the “subject” French Language, the theme that includes time and numbers is performed within the “subject” Mathematics, the theme of the world around me is performed within the “subject” Geography, and the theme of culture and society is performed within the “subject” History and Culture. It is important to emphasize that the thematic units are not a replacement for teaching subjects but a form of the course that could suit the expected profile of the participants.
